What if Mario never wanted any of this? One must imagine Mario as a happy plumber in the Mushroom Kingdom, tending to the pipes where the Piranha Plants live, exchanging neighbourly small talk with the Koopas, stopping for dinner at the castle of Princess Peach and her beloved husband Bowser.
Then one day some mysterious force possesses him and he goes on a rampage, smashing the neighbourhood, accusing his best friend of kidnapping his own wife. What if that mysterious force was us? What if we are the ghosts?
