Attention Labs
The Attention Labs are an experiential, participatory workshop curriculum dedicated to the joint exploration of radical human attention. Through group attention practices and guided discussions, we create and test tools to build sanctuaries of attention — as well as networks of solidarity to sustain them.
Upcoming Labs:
Our Attention Labs introduce participants to the three pillars of Attention Activism: STUDY, SANCTUARY, and COALITION. Labs are free, and all are welcome!
STUDY. An introduction to the collective study of attention through Practices and group discussions.
SANCTUARY. Exploring techniques and frameworks for Sanctuaries of Attention.
COALITION. Building the Attention Activism movement.

The first Lab was held at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in March of 2022 (more than a year before the official founding of the School!). Over the past four years, we have facilitated Labs for thousands of people in the United States, Spain, Ireland, England, and Brazil. Our facilitation team leads Labs in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The Labs earned a shout-out from education leader and social justice visionary Danielle Allen in a speech for the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
