SoRA @ Your Institution •
The School of Radical Attention partners with educational, cultural and community institutions to design programming that responds to the needs of each context. Our offerings are modular and flexible in length, allowing programs to be combined, adapted and tailored to your institution or community.
You can learn more about our different modalities from the options below.
PRESENTATION:
This lecture presentation sets out key concepts in the study and practice of human attention, and in the intellectual foundations of Attention Activism. Key questions include: What is attention? How has it been engineered and commodified by digital platform technologies? What are the consequences of the human fracking industry, and what forms of resistance are possible?
ATTENTION LAB:
A participatory workshop dedicated to the practice of radical human attention. Through group exercises and guided discussions, participants will explore how attention behaves, why it matters, and what various traditions (arts, scholarship, religious practice, political movements) can teach us about Attention Activism. The workshop encourages reflection, experimentation, and active engagement, giving participants practical tools to deepen and share attention in their everyday lives.
SEMINARS: ATTENTION ACTIVISM 101 & 201
Our three-session seminars are designed for students, faculty, community members, and professionals interested in learning about Attention Activism. Through interactive sessions, participants explore the foundations of the movement, examine the effects of the attention economy on daily life, and gain practical tools for cultivating intentional, ethical attention in classrooms, workplaces, and community spaces. Each seminar blends theory with hands-on practice, providing participants with strategies to engage more thoughtfully and create meaningful experiences in their own communities.
TRAINING:
This hands-on training equips participants with the skills to lead attention practices in classrooms, community spaces, and other group settings. Participants explore the theory behind practices of attention, learn how to design and facilitate their own sessions, and guide others in noticing and cultivating collective attention. This training provides practical tools and strategies for creating engaging experiences that help communities strengthen and care for attention together.
CONSULTANCY:
This consultancy supports institutions, organizations, and communities in creating and expanding attention sanctuaries within their shared environment. Drawing on research and practice, we will guide, design and develop attention spaces and practices that align your community values while responding to the pressures of contemporary digital and institutional life. This collaboration offers guidance for growing attentional ecosystems– supporting communities as they strengthen existing sanctuaries and imagine new ones.
