Your body is the vessel of your experience. Some relate to this fact with care, others with wild abandon. Different ways of understanding our body's role in lived experience produce wildly different lifestyles — and, at the level of society, different kinds of politics.
Perhaps no contemporary writers embodied the reckless commitment to gustatory pleasure as fully Anthony Bourdain. In this Study, we'll read from his beloved Kitchen Confidential and play with different uses of the body as a site of tasteful, tasty, or tasteless experiences. We'll meet at the Fort Greene farmer’s market — an excellent place to explore different ways of relating to the body as the site of our sensory life (and everything else!).
