Haunted by Light highlights photoreactive media that draw attention to forms of light as they delineate the limits of our vision and visibility. Cyanotypes, autoradiographs, and lumen photography document the slow exposure of objects to fluctuations in sunlight and radiation, the “breath” of plants are captured and cast as shadows through glass sculptures, and the flashing diodes of screens constantly remake and unmake digital images. By conjuring specters of unresolved pasts and unrealized futures from this continuous spectrum of light, SoRA and the artists propose a spectral attention that allows us to actively inhabit and claim agency over our hauntological conditions.
