Join SoRA for the opening of our fall exhibition, EYE-CATCH! (October 1-30), presenting wearable pieces by Jianing Zhao, Nathalie San Fratello, Tanner Kok, Lexi Fujita, Dennis RedMoon Darkeem, and Kajal Ramrup that confront the monetization of attention in fashion. Visitors can enjoy a full video documentation of the fashion show on September 19 that showcased twenty looks in total from the designers, and observe the color, structure, and texture of selected pieces in close proximity. A collection of upcycled SoRA merch, screen-printed by Francesca Barr, will be available only for the night.
With a majority of the pieces constructed from secondhand or upcycled materials, EYE-CATCH! reaffirms that resistance to the commodification of our attention begins with our most intimate surroundings — by attending to the deep pasts, and possible futures embedded in the ways we clothe ourselves.
