Join the Hydrofeminist Map Collective for Vernal Ghosts, a collective somatic practice to trace and translate the memory of the Sound River (East River). Building on our winter Radiant Cold practice—held across four riverside locations— Vernal Ghosts will connect with the river as a site of healing, grief, and transformation.

Guided by hydrofeminist figuration and transcorporeal sensing, we will listen to audio recordings from Radiant Cold and engage in mapping the river’s “sound spatiality” through movement, touch and drawing–honoring the layered urgencies, memories, and stories we all carry. This practice is a space of care, cohabitation, and embodied attention where we will offer tea, touch, and warmth, as we hold space for emergency and trauma, and honor the transformative potential of the river’s living energies.

This 2 hr Hydrofeminist Map Collective practice is offered in-person and on Zoom. Participants will be invited to sit and lie on the floor during the practice but other seating options will be available; this indoor event will be held in an accessible space. Doors open at 12:30pm – no entry after 1pm.
