Sidewalk Study: GREEN EGGS & FAM

Is taste innately subjective? Or is it subject to our relational, cultural experiences? The fallacy of this dichotomy is well-recognized, yet the question continues to reappear throughout human thought.

Join us in floundering at the strange “intra-action” of epigenetics, evolutionary aesthetics, agential realism and — wait for it — Dr. Seuss. We'll gather in Chelsea, one of New York's "taste" hotspots, to explore the ways that taste can be transmitted between people, places, and things.

Text: Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham, Portera & Mandrioli's Tastes of the Parents: Epigenetics and its role in Evolutionary Aesthetics, Barad & Kleinman's Interview (2012).

Date: Fri, Apr 10 • 7pm

Location: Chelsea with Eleanor & Samvit
